Blue it- NOD

Sally Hansens 'Blue It' picture on nails as promised!

I think its a great colour, however not something I would wear on a regular basis. BUT it looks so pretty if you pair it with blue clothing like I did today!

Blue it!

I had been eyeing this nailpolish for quite some time and finally ended up buying it. It's a colour outside my comfort zone since I generally opt for more 'wearable' colours such as nudes, browns and pinks.

The colour is called 'Blue It' and it is a gorgeous cobalt/ultramarine blue with a sheen to it. I have applied it on my toe nails but forgot to take a picture so I will post that picture up in the next few days!

I absolutely LOVE this colour (on my toes)!! I had to apply it twice for the colour to not look streaky and have a nice finish to it similar to what it looks like in the bottle. However I am not sure whether I can pull this colour off on my fingers...It is a BRIGHT colour, and I don't think it would go with a lot of my out fits which are generally quite neutral. I will definitely give it a go though :).

All in all, great product, great consistency of the polish, amazing colour, affordable price!

Have any of you tried it?

Essie Nail polishes

There was a sale at Myers where Essie was buy 2 for $24.50. I bought the shades 'Jazz' (neutral) and 'Bahama Mama' (purple).

I didn't realise what all the fuss was about with Essie until I tried it myself. These nailpolishes are hands down amazing! Their application is amazing, goes on very smoothly with a nice consistency ( I did have to put a couple of coats for the colour to show).
The nailpolishes are naturally quite glossy, so no need for a top coat and they DON'T CHIP! That's amazing or what! I couldnt believe it, you'll see below where I am wearing the purple shade, its been a week and 0 chips!
I feel like going and buying all of the shades because theyre so pretty but unfortunately they are quite pricey :(.

I thought I had bought the same purple shade when I got home, but when compared the Essie purple is much deeper like a plum and at times looks red whereas the Zoya 'Demi' has a pinky tint to it and when applied is slightly on the 'grey' side.

Would I repurchase these polishes? YES I would, if I was a millionaire I would buy all the shades :)

Keep Smiling :)

SpaRitual Vegan Nailpolish

I got this beautiful colour 'Can You Dig It?' in Shimmer by a really close aunty. Shes really into beauty products as well and always finds the most amazing products which are both natural and vegetarian.

I had never heard about this brand before but after a bit of research I found out that this is a VEGAN nailpolish and doesnt have the nasty chemicals and parabens that other nailpolishes contain! This is definitely a plus point already.

This is the colour with flash and it actually looks a bit purpley/reddy than the colour actually is.

This is a more correct perception of the colour as I see it. Its a earthy brown, with some flecks of gold when you shien it in the sun! I absolutely LOVE this colour and I was quite mermerised at how pretty it looked on my hands. Because having tanned skin its often difficult to really understand what colours will suit my nails.

LOVE THE COLOUR!

The application of the product is fantastic and I would say its just like OPI. It applies smoothly and really nicely. It dries quite fast so I could put two coats on without too much delay. The quality of the laquer is amazing, you actually dont need two coats for the colour to work its magic. It looks just as amazing with a single coat.

The quality of the actual bottle impressed me as well. It has a very rich feel to it with the lid made of a sort of rubber.

Would I purchase this product again? YES I WANT THE WHOLE RANGE!!!!!

I would rate this product a definite 6/5 stars!!

You guys should definitely check them out!

Keep Smiling :)

Minty Green on my nails..

So I had shown this colour I got from the FACESHOP.
To be honest, I dont like it at all. I had to apply around 3 coats to get a nice colour without the streaks. The brush is useless, it doesnt apply the nail colour very well.

I actually took this colour off straight away because I couldnt bear looking at it. Its not a very nice minty green and suprisingly it changes colour when you wash your hands (which is very odd).

Would I repurchase this/ or any nailpolishes from the FACESHOP? No

I would rate this product a 0/5

Purple Zebra Nails!

Sorry about the quality of the photo

I was sitting and thinking of something to do. I realised my nails needed to be repainted. I got this idea to do something interesting. I started with a paintbrush (which I no longer use) and did some swatches of Zoyas 'Demi'. I started adding a bit of white and mixed Demi with White to get a sort of violet colour.
This is how it came out. I used Revlons 'Steel-Her Heart' as the base coat.

Hope you guys enjoyed the look and much as I loved painting it!

Keep Smiling :)

For those impatient nail painters...

MY FIRST EVER OPI! Wow, I was so excited to finally get one. I dont know about other people around the world, but where I live OPI is VERY expensive. It was $20 for one bottle, and Ive been thinking about purchasing an OPI for MONTHS!

My attempt to show you how pretty the coloyr is, its got little flecks of shiny stuff. I call it 'stuff' because I dont think its glitter as such.

Normally lighting, LOVE the colour. It is 'Bay Bridge Sunset'

I'm not too sure whether this was a 'wise' choice for a first OPI polish but im loving it :)

Now to the star of this blog post....

I also bought this OPI RapiDry Spray Nailpolish Dryer. When it comes to drying my nails, im the most impatient person around. I end up always chipping/grazing or doing something to it that it ends up lookin like a mess! All that precious time wasted when applying the polish.

So when I saw this I thought it was a sign. Its better to invest in something which will prevent all the smudging and ruining your perfect set of nails right? Well thats the theory I used when I purchased this. It cost $18 (yes very pricey). So I tried it out, and I even made a video on how I used it and how fast the drying time was BUT for some reason it refuses to load :(. But I will try put it up later if I can.

So what do I think about this product? Well, it IS BRILLIANT! It is absolutely fantastic for those of you who just cant wait for those nails to dry. It dries in around 1 min (estimated time). It smells great (not sure if thats something you look for) and the spray is nice and 'misty' so covers the nail properly.

My rating for this product would be 5/5 stars!

It is a definite life saver (in terms of painting my nails) and I dont think I will ever look back!

Look out for the video of how I used this product + how long it actually took to dry!

Keep smiling :)

Ravishing Revlon Colours

Steel her Heart

Sweet Tart

Revlon red

Swatches of the colours. The grey is darker on the nails than in the bottle!

I've had these three polishes for a while and I thought I would do a post because I absolutely love them! I tend to use the red and pink in the summer time for my toes and the grey for my fingernails for the winters.

Grey- Steal Her Heart
Red- Revlon Red
Pink- Sweet Tart

I've had alot of compliments for the pink, because its a unique colour which I havnt really found anywhere.

A few strokes later...
These polishes are good quality and the application is easy. They dry almost instantly!

Rating 4/5

How to DIY Pedicure...

We spend most of our days on our feet, so it is vital that you take some time out of your busy life to fit in a pedicure. It doesn't have to be from the salon but can be done at home! It's a hot Saturday day and I'm ready for my very own pedicure. Here are some of the things I use:

LUSH Ocean Salt, Butterball, Lemslip, The Body Shop body scrub and filer.
1. File
Shorten, Smooth and square off toenail ends with an emery board. Use a buffer to help even out any surface bumps or ridges.

2. Scrub and Soak
Give your feet a good once-over with a foot file to soften build-up of hard dead skin. Concentrate on the backs of the heels and sides of the big does, but don't stress too much about the calluses underneath- a certain amount of this is necessary to protect your feet. Next, while you're running warm water into your bath/tub, rub a salt based scrub all over your feet. Then soak them in the warm water as the salts dissolve around them. Today I am also using a bath bomb from Lush called the Butterball. My feet are dry and even though this is a bath bomb it can be used for  your feet!

LUSH Butterball
3. Cream
Dry off your feet and massage with a rich cream. You can use either a speciality foot cream or a general body cream- whatever it is, the thicker the better. Massage calves for an extra feel-goof treat. I will be using a body butter from The Body Shop.

4. Prep Nails
Clean any cream residue from nails by using a cotton pad that has been soaked in nail polish remover. Then apply a base coat of polish to each of your nails in three stripes (middle first and then either side).

5. Paint
Super-bright colours always look fab on summer toes. I am going to apply a purple from Zoya, but you should also play around with jewel tones such as blue and green. A top coat is optional (toenails are porous so hold colour well) but it can be used to up the shine factor whenever yor nail colour stats to look a little dull.

Ok, all done now off to the shops!

Summer Colours

Where I am, it is currently really hot! As it is summer here. So when summer comes it means summer nails! This month I'm loving these three shades byt Ulta3, which I was fortunate enough to get on sale! The names for each are also so cute such as 'plum violet', 'watermelon' and 'spring fling'. As you can see, the colour is quite true to the shade in the bottle. A plus point with these nailpolishes is its dry time! It takes less than a minute to dry which is such a + point for me!

These shades can be warn with almost anything and the best part about them is that they add a bit of 'oomph' to your outfit! I always get compliments for the 'watermelon' shade because it is not too bright and not too subtle!

So this summer, give your nails a touch of summer colours!

keep smiling :)
