No More Dry Hands

I had talked about this product when I got a huge gift from L'OCCITANE from a friend.
I thought I would do a review on their hand cream- which is something I am absolutely loving! So much so that I've nearly run out of it!

I have really dry hands and whenever I wash them they feel really rough and the skin feels extremely tight. After using this hand cream which is for 'dry skin', I found my hands were noticeably softer. Another plus point to this product was the really relaxing and soothing scent. Its not over bearing so you can lather on as much as you like!

5 stars for me!

L'OCCITANE MASSIVE HAUL!

So it was another Friday night, I had been working all day so didnt end up going out. The I get a call from my bestestest friend saying he's standing on my doorstep with a bag of goodies!

It was the BEST surprise ever!!!

This is what was in the bag...

it was wrapped so beautifull with hot pink paper!

and as i was opening the delicate tissue paper- these dried flowers dropped onto my lap and their scent was amazing! It definitely made the experience so nice (thumbs up to L'OCCITANE!)

This is what was inside...

Shower gel- which smells absolutely amazing

one of my favourite scents of all time (as you noticed in my bath and body works haul)

next is a perfum roller

LOOK AT THIS! HOW COOL IS THAT. Ive never seen these before, and I think its a great applicator to just roll on your perfume and go. The scent is amazing and very very soothing.

This is another shower gel but it has small almond shell granules- which acts as an exfoliant as well. Its in the scent plum blossom- which is very soothing. The bottle describes the applicaiton as "this shower gel transforms into a rich, creamy foam that gently cleanses, exfoliates and perfumes the skin". If thats not the perfect description, I dont know what is!

this is a hand creme- suited for dry hands. I've used it once, and Im loving it. It contains a very high content of Shea Butter (which you all know is great for dry skin- through my previous posts). I felt like it really nourished my hands which are often left neglected! Definite thumbs up from me!

Last but not least, this is a skin moisture gel- something very new to me.
It has been descirbed as a "smooth gel texture with delicate powdery notes".
Enriched with plum kernel oil, this velvet-soft, nourishing gel leaves skin soft, supple and delicately perfumed.
I want to smother this all over my body!

That's the end of my exciting haul! It was such a surprise, I couldnt wait to show you all!

I'll review the products individually once I've started using them :)

Keep smiling!

Elizabeth Arden Haul

So I went shopping today, and I needed a good day moisturiser. I had been using the Elizabeth Arden Intervene for a while, but wanted to try something new. But as soon as I found out they were having a gift time special I had to buy it.

I bought the Elizabeth Arden Intervene- Radiance Boosting Day cream with spf 15. It's really good for people with dry skin but doesnt leave the skin feeling oily. This is my third tub, and I had gone around to other stalls such as Lancome,Clinque, Bobbi Brown, MAC, YSL but I have to say this is something my skin absolutely loves. There is a noticeable difference within a week to my skin complexion, my skin feels smooth and radiant!

In the gift pack I got:
  • lipstick- 02 perfect brick
  • pallette- with 2 eyeshadows (graphite, platinum), 2 lipcolours (radiant mauve, sparkling ruby) and a cheekcolour (sunblush)
  • all gone- lip and eye makeup remover intervene- skin tone perfecting capsules
  • ceramide- lash extending treatment mascara
  • intervene- stress recovery night cream
  • intervene- radiance boosting moisture cream
  • intervene- anti fatigue eye cream
  • Pretty elizabeth Arden Eau de Parfum
I was lucky enough to have a special friend buy me this as a gift! So nice :). He's absolutely gorgeous!

I will be trying out a new night time regime which I will be posting soon, to try out these new products!

The Ex(foliation) Factor

Our skin is constantly shedding skin cells, and sometimes, they don't always naturally fall off our skin so that's where exfoliating comes in. I constantly exfoliate my skin with a body scrub or a regular body wash together with a body brush and exfoliating gloves.

The result: clear pores, less chance of ingrown hairs, increased circulation and glowing skin.

So how can you do it?
There are two ways in which you can exfoliate; dry skin brushing or wet exfoliation. I choose to exfoliate in the shower. After rinsing your entire body, apply any body scrub containing particles that cause friction against the skin. I use Ocean Salt by LUSH (which is an all time favourite of mine). It has large and small particles of sea salt which do a perfect job in exfoliating my skin. I use it along side a creamy body wash so my skin feels soft afterwards. I also use the Pink Grapfruit Body Scrub from the Body Shop, which works just as well and the smell lingers on your body for hours! I massage this over my entire body using gentle, circular movements. Usually I work the product up from the feet to the top of my body, and concentrate on dry patches such as elbows and knees.

Ocean Salt by LUSH, you can see the granules of salt!

My manicare exfoliating brush, as you can see ive used it quite alot!

Manicare, exfoliating glove.

Exfoliator beware
Over-exfoliating can strip the skin of too many skin cells (going beyond the layer of dead ones which need to be removed!), and can result in red, scaly and irritated skin. For most skin types, exfoliating two-to-three times a week is plenty for skin to achieve baby-soft smoothness.

Moisturising
Moisturising is an essential step in the post-exfoliation process, but also a great daily treat. I usually apply my moisturiser after a shower when my skin is warm and slightly damp for better absorption- the product will melt into your skin, leaving you with a gorgeous shine!
