Mirenesse Secret Weapon 24Hr Mascara

Mirenesse Secret Weapon Mascara Smudgeproof Easy Water Removal Lasts 24Hours No More Panda Eyes

I was recently given this amazing mascara by Mirenesse as a gift (not from the company but from a family friend). They had told me that this product does wonders and is great for sensitive eyes, which I have since I wear contacts. I have tried the product on, and I have to say it is amazing! It curls  my lashes as well as holding the curl for hours (I only had it on for around 5 hrs but it definitely lasted). My eye lashes appeared longer and more fuller. Not only that, my eyes appeared more awake and bigger (always a good thing).

Relief for Eye Contact Wearers

I found out about this through a friend after complaing of dry, tired eyes. I've been wearing contacts on and off for some time but the main reason I wasnt able to wear contacts for a long period of time was the way they left my eyes after long use. I would end up with tired and red eyes (all of which is not attractive)

This gel is great for eyes which just need a bit of moisture and you can also wear it whilst you have contacts on.

It comes in a tube form.

When you apply it, it does feel a bit gluggy so blink a few times to turn it into a liquid form

These are the ingredients

What do you guys use to nourish dry tired eyes?

Keep Smiling :)

Elizabeth Arden Eye and Lip Makeup Remover

I recently got this eye and lip makeup remover by Elizabeth Arden. I absolutely love it!
It has two distinct liquids (not sure if you can see it in the photo) but before you wear it you need to shake the bottle to mix the two liquids together. It forms this gorgeous glittery liquid. It instantly removes the makeup in one swipe!

Love this product!

Hydrate Your Eyes

I really needed a good eye cream. I found this eye cream by GROWN. The box states that "Tetra- peptides (superior patented natural active tetra-peptides promote skin cohesion and regeneration reducing dark circles, puffiness and wrinkle depth). By the description I thought this is a miracle in a tube! The things which were a plus for me was:
  • its certified organic
  • its not tested on animals
  • the packaging is made from 100% waste paper; and
  • it does not contain the nasty  chemicals such as sulphates, artificial fragrances or animal products.
A negative point was the cost, this was quite on the pricey side for me but lets see if its worth it!

First Application

When I first applies it, I have to say I loved the smell (it smells a bit like lavender which is so soothing). It was creamy but light, so it felt really hydrating for the under eyes.

Since the under eye area is very sensitive and the layer of skin is very thin, in addition the first signs of aging are usually prevalent near the eyes and neck so it is important to have these areas well looked after.

If you want to see more products by them you can visit http://www.grown.com/

I will do another post after a few weeks to see what the results have been after continued use.

Rating
I would rate this on first impressions a 4/5

What do you use for your eye creams?

Keep Smiling :)

Reduce Under Eye Dark Circles

Our eyes reveal so much about us that it is worth spending a little time each day to give them special attention. The stresses and strains of modern life- especially staring at the computer and television screens- can result in sore, puffy and tired eyes, but here are some recipes (tried and tested) to soothe and refresh, as well as reducing UEC otherwise known as the Case of the Under Eye Circles!

1. General Remedy- Sleep and Exercise

The best recipe for the eyes is of course to look after your general health. Remember, too, that eyes need rest. Exercise can help alleviate puffiness, while sleep and a balanced diet of fresh and whole foods will be good for your eyes and for your general well-being. Drinks lots of waters (preferably 2Ls), and avoid salt and caffeine.

I only recently started exercising regularly and I can definitely say it has improved my sleeping habits immensely. I was a very light sleeper and often only managed a few hours each night, but after my exercising routine I am able to fall asleep quickly and only wake up in the morning. It is hard to begin exercise straight away if youre not used to it, my advice would be to start slowly and then slowly build it up, maybe try yoga.

2. Relieving tired eyes
If your eyes feel tired or have bags under them try lying back, closing your eyes and applying one of the following:

dry, sore eyes: cotton wool pads soaked in aloe vera juice.
hot, sore eyes: slices of cooling cucumber
puffy eyes: slices of potato
tired eyes: chamomile teabags, as well as green tea, hazel, calendula and elderflower.

2. Eye baths

Tired or strained eyes can be soothed by being bathed in herbal infusions. The skin around the eye is especially delicate. Therefore eyes can benefit from bathing, but make sure your hands are washed and that any equipment you use is free from dirty of contamination.

herbs for eye baths: rose petals
strained eyes: eyebright and chamomile
conjunctivits: eyebright and marigold

If you would like a step by step preparation of such an infusion leave a comment below!

3. Products tested and tried.

I have tried and tested alot of products. The following are ones I found especially useful:

It is a collagen mask especially made for under the eye. I leave them on for around 20 mins. Your eyes instantly feel fresh and less tired. It is a great temporary fix!

This is the eye gel I am using at the moment, and it works great. My eyes get tired quickly with the use of contacts but after applying this gel, they feel very refreshed! But like I said before these products are just TEMPORARY! If you want to get rid of dark circles you need to do it from within!

4. Concealer

There is a quick and easy way to hide those UEC's, which is the beauty of a concealer. Make sure you go for the right tone for your circles, either a reddish or bluish tone. Stila concealer is a beauty, I have been using this product for 2 years!

Hope you enjoyed this summary of how to reduce UEC!

keep smiling :)
