Himalaya Protein Hair Cream

As promised, I had said I would be doing a review on all the products I got from India. I wanted to wait a few times after using this product to do a proper review rather than just using it once or twice.

I have very long hair, and I had posted a picture of my hair before so I make sure I use proper products to maintain my hair. I came across this product when I was searching for things I could get by Himalaya. I currently use their Neem Shampoo which I love and it prevents hair fall.

Changes I saw in my hair:
            • Less fall out;
            • softer hair;
            • hair actually felt stronger;
            • silkier and shinier after putting it on an hr before washing.
However, I am not a huge fan of the smell. I can only use this product before washing and not after washing as is recommended on the packaging. The strong is overbearing and its not something I like to wear and smell all day long.

Another negative point is the actual consistency of the product, its somewhat thick and sticky which makes it quite difficult to put on your hair and place it evenly throughout.

Would I be purchasing the product? Maybe not, I think there are better products out there that do the same job.

Organix Moroccon Argan Oil Conditioner controversy

I bought the new Moroccon Argan Oil conditioner. I haven't used it yet so the review should be up soon.
However, you will see below that the bottle has additional stickers on it which covers the 'Sulphate Free and Paraben Free' signs....I have a feeling that these products in fact have sulphates and parabens. I went to the website to see whether they still stated these products are sulphate free and they stated they are.

moroccan argan oil

This rare formula has a centuries-old history of providing natural vitamin E and antioxidants while renewing your hair’s cell structure, sealing in shine, and creating lush softness.Luxurious Sulfate Free & Paraben Free Formulas • Organic Active Ingredients • Amazing Scents • Safe For Color-Treated Hair • Safe For All Hair Types

I'm not sure whether to believe the website and assume they are sulphate free when they have stickers on the bottle. Clearly this is misleading and deceptive conduct. If these products actually have sulphates and parabens they should change the details on their website to avoid complaints and lawsuits!

Do  you know anything about this? Please let me know :)

A Deep Nourishing Hot Oil Treatment is what your hair needs...

I spotted this Hot Oil Treatment by VO5 in the shopping isles and I had to get it. As most of you who follow  my blog know I am a sucker for all things hair. Because I am growing my  hair out it requires alot of TLC. This product claims to rescue hair within 1 minute.

I thought Id add in a photo of my hair and how long it is. I know its hard to really understand where I am coming from when I say my hair needs TLC without you actually seeing the results.

Its a very small tube and before you open it you need to either leave it in a bowl of hot water (in order for the oil to become hot) or leave it in your shower (which is what I tend to do- saves time and water).

So does this product actually work? To be honest, 1 minute seems like a  very small amount of time to actually reconstruct my hair. BUT youll be suprised with the results. My hair definitely liked this product (I have already used 2 tubes, it comes with 4 in a pack). I noticed a significant change in breakages straight after. Usually I have to be very careful at not pulling, combing or drying my hair because I tend to get alot of breakages. However, with the use of this  product my hair felt stronger AND was more flexible without breaking.

Would I purchase this product again? Yes, I would. I wouldnt purchase it straight after finishing this packet but I would definitely go buy it when I need it. Im saving the last two tubes because I will be travelling at the end of the year and my hair gets damaged through the flying and travelling so I definitely need some Hair TLC then.

What would I rate this product? I would definitely give this product a 4/5 stars. The reasons are for its:
  • 1 minute results
  • excellent packaging
  • visible results
Have any of you used this product? What are your thoughts?

Disclaimer: I purchased this product with my own money and I am not affiliated with the company what so ever.

SulfateFree L'Oreal Replenishing Hair Masque

I wanted to try something from the new sulfate-free LOreal range. I bought this a month back I think and I thought Id use it first before letting you guys know how it is.

It claims to strengthen and intensely repair your hair. I bought this one because I was gettin alot of hair fall due to breakage and thought maybe this would help.

As you can see I have used mostly all of it. I use it AFTER I have shampooed and conditioned. I leave it on for about 4-5 minutes then rinse it off.

The Effects: It definitely leaves my hair nice and soft and silky.

Does it do what it claims?: I dont think so to be honest. I continue to have breakages, it hasnt really 'repaired' my hair as it says it will. It just left my hair soft then would go back to normal.

Would I repurchase?: No

Rating: 2/5 stars

John Frieda Collection- Luxurious Volume REVIEW

Have you ever wanted gorgeous voluminous luxurious hair? I do/did. My hair has the tendancy to become what we girls call 'flat' after the second day of washing. Im a huge believer of only washing your hair every 2/3 days. So, wanting gorgeous hair everyday would mean it is impossible right? Wrong.

I came across this product line from John Frieda. I was actually out on the search for his other collection 'root awakening'. But when I stumbled across this product line, I had to have it.

First Use
I was so excited to use the products, that I used them the day I got it. The shampoo wasn't that great, it didnt lather and I ended up having to go back for more and more product. The conditioner was nice and creamy and applied easily. I can't say I enjoyed the smell as compared to the many other hair care ranges I've tried but was reasonable.

After washing, I towel dried my hair and applied the "Lavish Lift Root Booster" (in the 3rd photo). I applied this all over my roots and on the top. I then left my hair to air dry for 15 mins. I then blow dried my hair- flipping my hair upside down to increase the volume at the roots.

The end result
Ok, to be truthful it definitely did add volume to my hair. AND IT WAS SO SOFT! I loved the feeling of it being so light and fluffy. A downside of the product, was that my hair became a bit 'too fluffly' like it was like a 'poof', I had to straighten my hair to calm the tresses down.

However, I will definitely be using this product when I want that extra lift at the roots!

Rating
I'd rate this product a 3/5 stars

What do you guys use to volumise your  hair?

Dandruff? No thanks.

So you've been itching at your dry scalp for a while, youve tried almost anything and now youve resorted to wearing a hat/cap/beanie everywhere you go...well now I have the solution for that.

As most of you know after following my blog, I experienced a lot fo hairfall last year and one of the reasons was my dry, flaky scalp and trust me it was not attractive. So I went on the hunt to try out different things to restore the well being of my scalp.

1. T-Gel by Neutrogena

So I was watching TV one day and an advert on this new product from neutrogena caught my eye. I immediately went out to get it. I have to say it took its time to work but when it did, it definitely reduced my dandruff and my scalp felt less itchy. I was only using this once a week not everyday because I found the fragrance of this product quite sickening. However, over time I found this was actually drying out my hair. So it did have its pros but it also had its cons. Its a great product, to start off with to reduce dandruff.

2. Hair Doctor by LUSH

I think I went through at least 3 tubs of this! This was the best remedy to restore my hair and scalp. It has peppermint in it which left my scalp tingling (in a good way). It had noticeable effects on reducing my dandruff! I loved using this product and after washing my hair felt so revitalised and soft. I don't use this product anymore since my hair has not had any major dramas but this is the first product I would turn to if you need some much needed TLC for your hair.

3. Natural Remedies
These are quick remedies which I used to nourish my dry scalp. These included:
  • to treat dry hair, massage olive oil into the hair; paying attention to the roots and tips of the hair, and wrap the hair in a warm towel. Leave for 1-3 hours and rise out with mild shampoo with added lemon juice.
  • Cider vinegar can be used to rise and conditiont he hair and to restore the pH balance of the scalp. For extra effect, herds such as rosermary, bay, sage and eucalyptus can be macerated in the vinegar.
These were quick and easy natural remedies I used to reduce my dandruff. Dandruff is mostly due to external factors as well as nutrition. Keep up with your 8 glasses of water a day and keep a healthy diet consisting of fruit and veggies and you wont have to click on this blog post again :).

Tried and Tested...Condition your hair with...

It may seem like I went a bit crazy with the conditioners but trust me it was worth it. Last year I was suffering from dry damaged hair which was falling out in clumps. Since alot of it has to do with internal factors such as emotion, stress and nutrition you can help maintain your hair from the outside. I found these products on my search to get my hair back in shape. My hair is approximately 60cms long (nearly up to my waist) and I have to say it has never felt so healthy and strong.

I started off by using the Retread conditioner from LUSH (one of my absolute favourite stores), I found that this was a brilliant natural conditioner as my hair felt really soft and light after washing. I loved the smell of it, as it contains lavender it was very soothing. How to use it: I washed my hair with one of LUSHs shampoos, then semi dried my hair placed a large proportion of the conditioner on my hair going from the roots to the tip of the hair and clipped for around 5 minutes and then washed it out. You can see the results immediately. However, I used this conditioner as a 'spa' treatment for the hair and not on a regular basis.

The two products from Organix are amazing! Absolutely worth the buy. I switch them around depending on what I feel. The coconut one is by far the best for dry hair, I noticed results immediately! My hair was silkier and shinier. Passionfruit Guava is also an amazing conditioner but I did not notice any results which would want me to go purchase it again. The scent is really fruity which I love, especially for the summer months.

The next two conditioners are by JOICO. I actually found out about these through the utube beauty gurus Blair and Elle Fowler. And to tell you honestly, I didnt like them at all! I experienced so much hair fall after using them that I had to discontinue use. I feel they have too many chemicals in them and when youre looking to moisturise your hair you should always go for something more natural.

Elvive is from L'oreal and is a deep conditioning mask that you place on your hair after shampooing. You leave it on for approximately 20 mins. I found this was a great conditioner on a monthly basis.

So which is the conditioner I would choose?
It would have to be the Organix coconut milk conditioner! My hair has never felt better and I would definitely go for another bottle once I am finished with this one.

Ratings
Retread 3/5 stars
Passionfruit Guava 4/5
Coconut milk 5/5
JOICO 2/5
Elviv 3/5
